Have you ever ridden a bicycle around your neighborhood? Have you ridden a bicycle across your town? Have you ever started riding a bicycle in San Diego, California with a purpose of biking to Washington, DC? If your name is Mark Anderson, the answer is "Yes, yes I have".
Mark Anderson is a Med Student at the University of New Mexico who made his way to Cincinnati via a starting point of San Diego by way of bicycle. The reason I know of his story is because Mark and his girlfriend Sarah showed up at Massage Fishers for a couples massage on May 18th. As we do with all clients, we asked a few background questions to learn more about them. I'm glad we asked.
The Ride for World Health organization has been raising money for World Health causes since 2006. Each year a select team of cyclists is chosen to undertake this cross country journey to bring attention and fundraising to support other established organizations around the world. Mark Anderson is a National Team rider for 2011.
Mark was on a one week break from the journey and came to Indianapolis to spend time with his girlfriend Sarah who flew in from New Mexico. While in town they chose to get a much needed couples massage. After visiting Google, they were directed to Massage Fishers. It was an honor to meet someone with so much to give, that has chosen to give it to a cause much bigger than himself. One could imagine there would be many other self-serving opportunities that he could choose to give his time to. Mark, for all those who see you cycling and do not get the chance to meet you or know your story...."Thanks"!
